“If you do what you’ve always done…then you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.” (Anthony Robbins). I stare at this quote, pinned to the wall of an 8th grade math class, daily. Striving to improve, to be passionate and to succeed drives me in everything I do.
Hello! and thank you for taking the time to view my blog. My name is Shaun Martin and this blog will serve as an open journal to document my experiences and learning throughout the next few years as a Graduate Student at Boise State University.
A little about me: I am originally from Hull, England. Hull is located in the County of East Yorkshire and sits on the Humber Estuary in the North East of England. I immigrated to the United States of America almost 8 years ago and currently live in Indiana with my wife and 2 year old son. I enjoy living in the U.S. and seeing the beautiful and vast open spaces full of history and character (I miss the Mountains!).
I try to always love life and fill it with hard work, learning and fun. Currently I work with some of the most amazing co-workers and students at Northside Middle School in Columbus, Indiana. Helping students ‘find their niche’ gives me a lot of satisfaction and if I come home with energy at the end of the day, then I haven’t done my job.
My goal is to obtain a teaching position where I can inspire students and help them become well informed citizens through the use of technology.
